Transferring to McGehee for high school was one of the best decisions I have ever made. McGehee taught me the value of an education and how to use it to impact the lives of others and our greater communities. The Upper School teachers are top-notch and want to see you succeed; personally, because of the individualized attention they give each student, they pushed me to find my potential that I would not have reached if I went elsewhere. If you need a place to uplift your daughters and help them find their confidence, this is... read more
We have had a wonderful experience at McGehee. The teachers care for our daughter with love and compassion. She is learning quickly, receives individual attention when needed, and is able to learn at her own pace. Additionally, her teachers have been very skilled at fostering her social-emotional development. We feel very secure and know that our daughter is being cared for very well when she is at her home away from our home.
Mcgehee really shaped me as a learner, and I had some wonderful teachers. the small class sizes were great for me to come out of my shell and participate in the classroom.
Our daughter is thriving at McGehee, a secular girls-only school with a high academic standard. In the co-ed public schools she attended previously, she was shy and afraid to speak up, but in an all-girl environment, she has found her voice.
Teachers are kind are really foster the students learning. Girls are taught to be independent. I loved that this school is non-denominational, unlike most private schools, and has a holistic approach to learning.
The school has provided an excellent eduction and college preparation. Safety has never been an issue. However, there is a lack of diversity and minimal efforts to ensure inclusion of all students socially.
I really loved all of my teachers. I was able to be very independent at school which I also loved. I wish that there was more classes that we could take. The school needs to improve their diversity a lot.
Going to Louise S. McGehee School is one of the best choices I have ever made. Its community harbors respect and inclusivity. As opposed to being lectured, students are given and opinion on what they want to learn and the opportunity and resources to do so. As opposed to a teacher-student power shift, Mcgehee felt like a place for learners. Experienced learners helping others. Beliefs, ideas, and voices were heard and respected by everyone. The students, faculty, and administration all followed the Honor Code greatly. There ... read more
McGehee has been a wonderful school for our daughter. The academics are strong and we are very impressed by what she is learning and the opportunities she has to explore deeply into areas of interest. But, we are even more impressed with the way that McGehee focuses so strongly on giving the girls confidence, resilience, and leadership skills. Before looking at McGehee, I was not open to the idea of an all-girls school, but I am so happy that we took the time to explore this school and what it offers because my daughter is t... read more
