Well, the prices certainly did seem nice, but............. after purchasing THEIR recommended repair kit I was left with unused parts due to improper fitment issues, and extra labor at the repair shop to discover the improper fitment issue. Discount AC parts is great until the part tears up while under warranty. I have been in contact with them for over a month because my compressor I bought 10 months ago is no longer working. I have had 2 reputable mechanics concur that the problem I am having is the compressor. So I called Discount AC Parts and for a month they gave me the run-around asking me to have other things checked, which I did. Parts didn't arrive, even though I'd stated I needed them fast. Called customer service and the guy was kinda short with me and said they had sent me an email. I received no email from them, neither in my inbox nor spam folder. I had to buy a compressor locally for big bucks. About a week-and-a-half later a guy called me and offered a new compressor for $250. Told him I already had to purchase one and that he needed to get his web folks to fix their email server.
I have never received such good help on the phone, Bill Gallucci went above his job explaining everything. Will use Discount AC parts again.
Order a compressor in june .Very quick delivery but after I have it installed at a gm dealership with a new drier,new condensor,new hoses, the thing fail after 2 weeks.The coil on the compressor had an open circuit. Put my old coil which was still good on that compressor and it started to leak after 3 weeks. The guarantee is a joke since they ask you to return the fail compressor at your own expense ( 40.00 $ +),before sending you a replacement or they ask for 425.00 deposit and you just might get a another piece of junk. Part were shipped expeditiously. Order on the 1/22/11 and received 1/25/11. Upon checking the contents I found the plastic bag containing seals and o rings with the corner cut open and seals and o rings adrift in the cardboard box. Its been a week (2/3 - 2/11) since I emailed AJ at sales@discountacparts.com and got no response.
Iordered an ac compressor package which came with a defectice(leaking) expansion device which i returned for credit and i have never received a credit or had any response to my claim whatsoever.would not reccomend this company to anyone
I bought an evaporator for my 1998 caravan,received part in 2 days-very good.That saturday,pulled out instrument panel and heater/ac assy to replace and not only didn't the part fit,but it was NOT as pictured.Had to buy part locally.Was promised full refund,had to pay shipping back,refunded partial almost 1 month later.no replys from emails or call messages left on their "customer service" line-yah right!
Purchased the AC Compressor for a 2002 Suburban, I have already returned it twice , I've paid labor 3 times because of an inferior product. I'm hoping that the third one works. They still make me pay a core everytime I return the AC for a new one. res4202@yahoo.com
