I hired Gas Fix November 16th 2016 because our Kingsman fireplace kept blowing out on windy days. Repair guy (Scott) came out and did complete overhaul costing $667.76. Fireplace looked awesome and looked like new...but..... by Nov. 20th I contacted Gas Fix again because the fireplace pilot light was still blowing out on very windy days. They were quick to come back out came out and diagnosed that the problem was likely a lack of Wind Buffer / Wind Vent Cover that I agreed to have designed and had installed for another $169.... read more
Scott inspected our family room fireplace, the 3rd time we have called Gasfix for service over several years. We found him aggressive, rude and very disrespectful. He tagged our fireplace suggesting that it was improperly constructed and installed which has never been sited on regular cleaning in the past 20+ years. He stated that he did not care about our life but only about himself and made negative inappropriate comments about our home. To add further insult, he charged us $100.00. I will never call Gasfix again and recom... read more

Thank you Mr. D for your review. Providing us with feedback allows us to continue to improve our process and procedures. We are genuinely sorry that the unsafe condition of your fireplace was not identified on an earlier service call. Your fireplace looked like a beautiful job on the surface. It was not until I had to pull the fireplace out of the cavity that I became aware of the condition in behind. We first serviced the fireplace in 2009. Since you state that it has had regular cleaning in the past 20+ years, the problem ... read more
I struggled with submitting this incident, I have had good service for the last five years but this very much raised a flag. After doing the initial start up and service our heater required replacing and it was completed last June. To start the year this year I called and asked for a service call to light and my concern was the warranty. It could not be done for a couple of days which I accepted ,but the total charges reflected a basic serve charge of $94.00, 25 minutes of service time $40.00, and $17.42 for taxes. The tech ... read more

Thank you for your review, Dan. We have been servicing your pool heater over six years when we started servicing your Hayward CZ200C-EI in 2010. Our rates have not changed very much over the years. When you look at only the service fee to dispatch our technician combined with the labour fee, our rates are still in line with what you paid in the past. In 2012, the service fee and labour was $125. In 2013, the service fee and labour was $248 as there were repairs to the unit. In 2014, the service fee and labour was $161. In Ma... read more
The cost for the same part in Amazon was $320 and when asked why was so expensive and told because they have it on the truck and that is only good business Don't mind a mark-up but this is to high. I find this gouging and greed and not good business as opposed to their thinking. This is just one issue what are they like in other repair scenarios........

We appreciate your review regarding the service call to your Jandy pool heater. You indicate that the cost of service was $550 but the signed invoice indicates you paid $150 plus HST. However, let’s investigate the facts. You have a Jandy LJ250 pool heater that was manufactured between 2003 & 2009. The serial number of your unit is H05PK0912 which indicates your unit was manufactured in 2005. Your pool heater is 10 years or older. As we specialize in the repair & maintenance of pool heaters & fireplaces, our technicians carr... read more
My wife hired this company to repair our water heater - Joe first called saying that "just to look will be free of charge and will take 5 min". He looked indeed for 5 min but then was sitting in his car making calls - charged for 35 min, left with 168$. He ordered parts, came for the 2nd visit, spent 30 min to install, but no way to say if these parts are new. We called next day to ask for warranty on parts from manufacturer and at least some paper trail about its purchase - Michel was rude, just dropping the call. Overall s... read more

It was very disappointing to read the two reviews that you and your wife wrote regarding the service provided by Gas Fix to your Rheem PVW50 water heater. Your wife’s review was removed though we did print a copy for our records. We have gone over and above as a contractor to provide you with the best service possible only to have you write false, misleading information in your review. The first line in your review is a complete contradiction. Your wife hired us for free? The first point of contact was with your wife Irina w... read more
Firstly, I would like to state that the original service call (by Joe) to look into my old fireplace and quote for a new one, was very good (Cost: $167). I was also happy with the service on the installation of the new fireplace (Cost: $1600). However, after using the new gas fireplace a few times, the logs started collect a lot of soot. I was told by Joe (the technician who come over initially) that I could use the old logs with this fireplace. The earlier fireplace using the same logs did not generate any soot over the 5 y... read more

Praveep – First, we would like to thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are pleased that you found the initial service call good and that you are happy with the installation of the new gas log fireplace. Second, we would like to apologize for the miscommunication that transpired after the installation and will do our best to provide some insight. When you and I (Jason) initially spoke to arrange the return call to check out the unit, I did mention that sooting is not normal and we did arrange to send out our... read more
Moved in to our new home which had a gas fireplace. wanted to make sure it was functioning before use. Called gasfix because of such great reviews on this site. Emailed them for a quote for my fireplace, got the quote and decided to go ahead with the service call. Quote "A normal clean and safety check would include vacuuming out the fireplace and bringing in a small compressor to blow out area's in behind and on top that we can not get at with the vacuum. We blow out the pilot assembly, burner, and fan assembly. We check th... read more

Brian: I’m terribly sorry that you are not happy with our service. In over thirty-five years, I find that most problems are related to communication. We would like to clarify some points that are not noted in your review. When you first emailed me regarding servicing your fireplace, all you could tell me was that sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t work. So it worked intermittently. You did not know the make, model or age. I told you in my reply by email that I could not tell you how much it would cost to repair your... read more
