GasFix was called to inspect our pool heater that would not ignite. The service tech replaced the igniter - started the unit and left. Unfortunately this was not the problem - the unit failed just after he left. When my wife called the office an unreasonable call back time was suggested and when she requested a more appropriate time the company representative swore at her and hung up. The conversation was overheard by another service tech who was completing a service call for an Hvac inspection. he was appalled at what he he... read more

Hired Gas Fix to repair Pool Heater. They fixed it. Got Charged a fair labour rate but got gouged on the parts price. I paid $686.49 for 3 parts that are readily available in the marketplace for for under $250.00. I didn't expect to get taken advantage of by a company that we had used in the past and when I objected to the parts price the repair tech immediately threatened to take the parts out and leave. I complained to head office and the GM called me a few minutes ago to explain that in order to have these parts readily a... read more

Thank you for your review. In 2012, we were there to service the Starite heater. As your email indicates, the issue was identified quickly and the charge was reasonable. In April 2021, we serviced the pool heater again and as your email to us states, the technician was on time, identified the problem AND had all three parts on the service vehicle. Prior to installing the parts, the technician did advise you on the price and you gave your approval to proceed with the repair. In your email communication you say you checked the... read more

Please think twice before hiring this company. It pains me to have to right this review as I gave Gas Fix the opportunity to make a wrong right but they chose not to. I contacted gas fix to come and diagnose a problem with my Town and Country fireplace back in October of 2019. The fireplace had been working but the flame control would not go from low to high. You could hear the valve opening as there is a slight noise when doing so but the flame height would not increase. I called Gas fix as they had serviced my fireplace in... read more

It is unfortunate that you are unhappy with the repair and service that you received from Gas Fix in respect to you Town & Country TC36 fireplace. The situation has not changed since I replied to your text message in November 2019. In this day and age, fake news and misinformation is so common in the news media. Gas Fix does not consider fake news as a basis for issuing a substantial refund. In an effort to improve communication, training and accuracy, Gas Fix records all calls. When you phoned to arrange a service call you ... read more

last May (2018) we had Gas Fix come out to install a pool heater. They advised we needed all new gas lines as they were not up to code (despite being installed by certified gas fitter previously) we paid and had this done . After Gas Fix installed the unit they left - had to call them back as they failed to relight our pilot . About a week passed and we heard rattling in the unit. They would not come back out to look at it without charging us. The heater has worked one season. This Canada weekend we discovered there was a pr... read more

Gas Fix repaired a non working gas fireplace in my home by replace the Gas Valve for a total repair cost inc. tax of $1400. There was a consistent odour in my home which I had become nose blind to but was advised by visitors to follow up on. 5 months after the instal of the gas valve Union Gas confirmed a gas leak from the fireplace. Gax Fix attended, work order stated the leak was repaired, the unit was checked and confirmed no further leaks. 3 days later the odour was still present, Union Gas attended again and confirmed a... read more

My fireplace was recalled and had to have a new one installed last fall. I cannot get the pilot light on. I emailed and called several times. The receptionist tells me about all the problems he is having with the owner. Goes on a rant about how he wants to get fired. The most unbelievable conversation. Then he gets very abusive. I have been a customer for over a decade but this was unbelievable. I was in the process of booking a service call when he hung up on me. Literally the most bizarre experience I have ever had. I real... read more

Thank you for Mrs. G for your review as we do appreciate your feedback. However, you don't tell the whole story in your review. You told us that you didn't want a service call. Then, you told us it was a gas fireplace that you did not want or need. You don't want/need the fireplace but it's cold and not working after YOU shut the pilot off in the spring. We routinely advise customers to keep the pilot on as it deters spiders, which is the most common issue that we see with fireplaces. Your prior gas fireplace was an Instafla... read more

When I initially set up this service call, Gas Fix tried to sell me a new heater when we had been advised by another company that we needed a new igniter. We declined this, and they came out for an initial service call. We were not at home and were advised we also needed a new control for $650 plus install. Unwilling to commit to this extra cost, we sent them away and paid the cost of the service call. I then called back to set up another visit to install an igniter and complain about the recommendation for a control panel. ... read more

Thank you Ms. E for your review. We appreciate your feedback even if you're wrong in your assessment. FIRST - In reviewing the telephone calls to our office, our staff was not rude to you. Rather, you were the rude person. You were rude, argumentative and dismissive. It was hard for Scott to complete a sentence when you continually cut him off. SECOND - We originally serviced the Jandy LJ pool heater on August 2nd. It was determined that the unit required many parts to repair. We returned on the 24th of September to install ... read more

I called Gasfix for a quote over the phone to have my basement gas dryer re-vented to follow code. The re-venting includes boring a new 4 inch hole in my brick and running a 7 foot vent. The quote was for 2-3 hours of work and between $300-400. I called 4 other gas companies and all 4 quotes were between $300-400. I chose Gasfix for their great reviews. The technician was on time and polite, however, he determined that my gas line had to be repaired as apparently, it was leaking. The technician failed to call me or communica... read more

Thank you Mr. K for your review. We do appreciate your feedback as it helps us to continue to improve our standards to provide the best service that we can. We do agree that the technician should have made every attempt to reach you, the landlord, to discuss the additional requirements over and above the initial job we were there to do. When our technician first arrived, there was a woman there to meet him. When the technician was half done the initial job, another person showed up who the technician thought was you. When co... read more

BOB, a fireplace contractor, recommended MARK to fix the fireplace in our condo. When somebody called me I asked if this was MARK, he responded "yes", so he came to our place. After almost 2 hours this person could not fix the fireplace. At the end, his name was not MARK, but DWAYNE, so he impersonated MARK. I contacted SCOTT, the owner, to complain. He was very rude and did not acknowledge Dwayne did something wrong. I asked him about the charges on the invoice and he told me the $94 Service Call is "just to ring the bell a... read more

Thank you Marissa and Luigi for your review. In over thirty-five years, we find that most problems are related to communication. In this circumstance, there is a language barrier which makes clear/concise communication difficult. We would like to clarify some points that are not noted in your review. On September 29, 2017 at 12:31 PM, MARISSA called Gas Fix and spoke with our administrator, Victoria. There was no mention from Marissa that this was a referral from Bob or Mark. Neither person was mentioned. She booked a servic... read more
