I purchased tickets for five adults for the shark cage encounter with an August 4, 2021 reservation. Three of my tickets were purchased through Groupon, and two tickets were purchased directly through Hawaii Shark Encounters. Hawaii Shark Encounters notified me via text message, as we were walking out the door of our hotel to head to the dock, that the shark encounter was being canceled due to rough waters. Aloha Tara, We are sorry we had to cancel your charter due to rough waters and safety concerns. We operate 3 miles off the north shore of oahu in open ocean and are very susceptible to winds. We always recommend booking directly with us for this reason. The way groupon gets their prices so low is they forfeit the travel insurance that booking direct comes with. Thrill seekers beware. This was definitely NOT a fun experience. The ppl are very inflexible and leave before the scheduled time. They were very greedy and wanted to not only keep the $550 but charge me another $60 per person to reschedule. My family and I have never come across ppl like this here on the island. I would not recommend anyone to go here. There are other shark diving tours better than this one.

How can you say it was not fun, you didn't even take it. You were so late we had to leave without you, left out of respect for all the other passengers that had the courtesy to arrive on time. If you cared to read your booking / purchase agreement, you not showing up on time is a forfeit of your ticket cost, they are limited and in demand.
