Sad that it has come to this. Been buying from Dixons Auction literally for DECADES. Never had any issues until recently....Ed...Billy...Jenny...Bruce great bunch of people. Purchased several items from 3/12/2025 Sale in Chester....upon arriving to pick up my items on 3/14 was informed of a break-in day(s) before several of my items were "taken". Stay away from this place, they’ve turned deception into an art. I participated to two auctions for items coming (supposedly) from Lowe’s. I bid on a Dyson vacuum cleaner, presented in its box as if it were new – but it was actually used, the head was covered with heavy scratches and the container was full of dirt. I bid on Fiskars limb loppers, with “the original label on” ; these loppers had been heavily used, to the point that the edge of the blade was broken on a third of its length - in other words, these loppers are as... read more
Today's auction, which was advertised as recently as last night and this morning on the company's Facebook page and was supposed to close at 7 PM tonight, suddenly disappeared from Proxibid, while all other auctions remain active on the platform. When I called to inquire about what happened, I was informed that the auction has been rescheduled for the 18th and that the items will be listed on HiBid instead of Proxibid. Listen to the reviews! I wish I would have read them prior to bidding on their items on Proxibid. They 100% participate in shill bidding. Shill bidding is the illegal practice of a seller or a seller’s acquaintances placing bids on his or her goods in order to drive up the price. From what I have read, it is illegal in most states, regardless if you put it in your terms. Despite what they say, they are not bidding on behalf of customers. It's totally obvious.
